Pedestrian killed in crash involving Westminster city vehicle, state patrol says

A Westminster city vehicle was involved in a crash that killed a pedestrian on Friday night, according to Colorado State Patrol.

In a CSP news release, troopers said the crash took place at around 5:28 p.m. at 9400 N. Sheridan Blvd, located near the Westminster City Center mall north of Route 36.

A Westminster city employee was driving northbound on Sheridan Boulevard in a Ford F-250, a city-owned vehicle, before he struck a pedestrian, according to CSP.

CSP officials said witnesses told authorities the pedestrian ran into traffic before being struck.

The pedestrian died on-scene.

The crash remains under CSP investigation.

Westminster Police Department officials posted on X its officers responded to the crash.
