Colorado School of Mines’ Philippart, Williams leap to RMAC weekly awards | Colorado Sunshine
Where good news shines
Colorado School of Mines has a jump on the RMAC competition.
Oreddiggers freshmen long jumpers Alejandro Philippart and Violet Williams were named RMAC field athletes of the week to open their season.
An Austin, Texas, product, Philippart scored Mines’ top long jump mark in a decade — 7.38 meters — which leads the RMAC and ranks tied for third in NCAA Division II. Williams, who is from Prescott, Ariz., broke the Mines record with a jump of 6.21 meters, the RMAC’s best mark since 2021.

Mines continues its season this weekend at the Colorado Running Company Pre-Holiday Invite at UCCS.
