Woman fatally shot in Aurora Tuesday evening, suspect at large

A woman died in the hospital Wednesday after she was shot in a south Aurora parking lot Tuesday evening.

The suspect of the shooting, who remains at large, is described as a man riding a bicycle while wearing red sweatpants and a black jacket, according to a news release from the Aurora Police Department.

Officers found the woman in the northern end of the parking lot in the 1200 block of South Havana Street just after 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to the release. The woman was originally taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries; police confirmed she died from her injuries Wednesday morning.

The area is home to a strip mall that includes a King Soopers, Chipotle and a Dollar Tree, according to Google Maps.
