All hunting in Piñon Canyon remains suspended due to government shutdown

Hunting on Fort Carson and the Piñon Canyon Maneuver Site continues to be suspended due to the federal government shutdown, according to a news release by Colorado Parks and Wildlife on Thursday.
The agency is offering full refunds and a preference point restoration to all affected license holders for the mule deer muzzleloader season from Saturday through Oct. 19.
Licenses must be returned to a CPW office in person, or a refund application must be postmarked by Saturday, according to the release.
The addresses of CPW Southeast Region offices are:
- 4255 Sinton Road, Colorado Springs
- 2500 S. Main St., Lamar
- 7405 West Highway 50, Suite 100, Salida
- 600 Reservoir Road, Pueblo
Additional big game hunting seasons may be considered depending on the length of the shutdown.
