Grandpa Ogle Celebrates Birthday
On Monday, Dec. 20, Josephus Ogle, a pioneer of this city, celebrated his 90th birthday anniversary. In honor of his having rounded out 90 years of life, his children gathered at the home of his daughter, Mrs. M. M. Toler, where he resides, and made the occasion a pleasant one. A big birthday dinner was served by the ladies, that loaded the table to overflowing with good things to eat, including a large birthday cake. There were present at this gathering, three of Mr. Ogle’s sons, Clinton, Charles and Henry, and their families, and two daughters, Mrs. Gray and Mrs. Toler, and families.
It was a happy occasion for Mr. Ogle, who was in good spirits and enjoyed the day very much. He received 78 birthday cards from relatives and old friends. These numerous good wishes from so many is a splendid tribute to Mr. Ogle, and coming from many different states will prove an interesting collection to remind him of the different ones who remembered the 90th milepost.
The EMPIRE joins in wishing Mr. Ogle many more pleasant birthdays. May the hand of time deal gently with him as he journeys along life’s pathway, and may he enjoy more and more his many pleasant relations and friends.
