After widespread thunderstorms on Thursday around Denver, chances drop some Friday as temperatures cool slightly.
Denver residents can expect a slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
It’ll be partly sunny with a high near 87, and a south southwest wind blowing around 7 mph, becoming north in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
“There will be scattered to likely showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening,” the NWS said. “A few strong storms are possible, however the main threat will be heavy rainfall, especially over the alpine burn scars or in areas of training thunderstorms.”
Tonight, expect a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8 p.m., with mostly cloudy skies and a low around 61. North wind 5 to 8 mph becoming south southwest after midnight.
